The analysis of all alternative treatment options regarding the diagnosed clinical situation of the patient is provided during an in-depth and timeless consulting session supported by hi-tech facilities. In this special appointment all essential indications, advantages, complications, long term prognosis, cost and time-related estimates are comprehensively presented and discussed.
In simple cases ultimate treatment plans can be made by the very beginning; however, in more complicated clinical situations where the biological response is unknown a step procedure is advised. Therefore, after the diagnosis is completed, an initial treatment plan should be accomplished in order to evaluate the treatment outcome in a certain time period and make available the essential basics for a definitive long-term restoration. Each prosthodontic patient should be aware that the final treatment plan can be precisely drawn after the implementation and reevaluation of the pre-prosthetic treatment phases (see below).
Patients records, diagnostic casts or/and diagnostic wax-ups (set-ups), radiographs and patient’s intra-, and extra-oral images are used as communication tools together with a specially designed software that virtually permits the demonstration of the preoperative condition and the design of different individual treatment modalities.
Treatment planning is based on scientifically proven techniques with respect to patient’s medical and oral health, feasible wishes or expectations, dental insurance covers and funding frame. Depending patient’s needs, treatment plans may consecutively follow the systematic, hygienic, conservative, pre-prosthetic and prosthetic phases. Long lasting maintenance of the therapeutic result is achieved through a computerized dental recall system.
